Designer Starfield Emil Paljarulo spoke about launch and development: “I was in stress for 2 years in a row”
Emil Paljarulo, designer Starfield, told how important it was for him to grow inside the company before the launch of a science fiction role play.
In a long topic on Twitter, Paliyarulo says that his love for Bethesda began with the role of the 1994 role -playing game The Elder Scrolls: Arena, the first in the historical fantasy series with the open world. “I studied at college, and my neighbor and I played a single -user game in the style of Hotseat“. Almost three decades later, Paljarulo has several posts in the development of Bethesda games, including The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, Fallout 3, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 4, and now Starfield.
Looking back, Paljarulo says that he has “One specific theory“, Explaining why he remained with Bethesda for so long.
“As far as I remember, Bethesda games were different,” he says. “These were not the games that had to be passed: these were worlds in which one could live. Large, ambitious, creative and offering what I could not get enough: first -person view. For me, the first -person view meant that I was inside the game, part of the world itself. To this day, in most games, I prefer the first, not the third. This is what Bethesda Games gave me. As a developer, this is exactly what I want to give to our fans. Speaking specifically about Starfield, Paljarulo spoke about the liberating effect that Starfield launched, for the sake of which the designer was in stress for two years of hard work.
