Remnant 2 graphic editor tool allows you to increase performance by turning off certain effects

Remnant 2 is very well sold. Just yesterday, Gunfire Games and Gearbox Publishing announced that the third -person shooter has already been sold more than a million copies, and the number of players registered on the PC was twice the peak number of simultaneous players of the first game in Steam.

However, one of its shortcomings for a PC is that performance can be better for the level of visual effects, given that the game does not support rays tracing or Lumen Unreal Engine 5. Even on high -class configurations can sometimes cause problems.

Fortunately, the popularity of the game led to a very active community of modders, and some enterprising people found out how to disable certain effects to increase performance. Usually in games on Unreal Engine 4 it would be relatively easy to configure files .ini. However, games on Unreal Engine 5 is a completely different matter.

The user with the nickname Yakuzadeso has created the so -called Remnant II Graphics Editor Tool, a program that allows you to create mods that completely turn off the following settings:

  • Smoothing
  • Increasing TAA sampling frequency
  • Depth of field
  • Glue from lenses
  • Chromatic aberration
  • Grain
  • Vignette
  • Bloom
  • Surrounding occlusion
  • Virtual shadow cards
  • SSGI
  • Volumetric fog
  • Fog
  • and others

Of course, softening or even disconnecting some of these effects can negatively affect visual effects. One of the largest gains of performance can be achieved by disabling SSGI (Screen Space Global Illumination). Nexus Mods Riadon has published the following comparison showing that the visual difference is minimal, while the frame rate can increase by 30-40% on the GEFORCE RTX 4090 when the game is rendering in the source resolution 4K.

SSGI (59 f/s) without ssgi (81 f/s)

To make Remnant II Graphics Editor Tool work, you will need to click “Create a mod” after you have decided on your settings, then take the file just created zcutomgraphics_p.Pak and move it to Remnant2 \ Content \ Paks \ ~ Mods. In addition, in order to enable any mods in this game, first make sure that you have installed Narknon assets modifiers.
